Thanks to all who made the church look so beautiful for our Christmas observance, and to all who read aor served at the liturgy. Special thanks to our Choir children of Saint George's for their musical contributions and to the Daughters of the King and their helpers for planning the lovely reception after the Thursday evening Mass.

First Friday Parents' night out

Friday, January 2nd from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Parents' Night Out needs your help! We need volunteers to come to the church and babysit our childern on the first Friday of each month so that their parents can enjoy an evening out as we provide them with inexpensive childcare and more importantly, security of knowing that their children are safe and being well cared for during the evening.

Please consider doing something very generous for our paretns of young children here at St. George's... even though it costs you no money; only your time.

IMPORTANT! If you are a parent who is planning on brining your children, you MUST contact Leslie Parker or the Church Office NO LATER THAN THE PREVIOUS WEDNESDAY so that childcare will be available.

CPR training & purchase of automatic defibrillator

Many thanks to our own Beryl Brooks and to Christa McLaurin, RNC, a fellow neonatal nurse who offered 2 two seperate sessions of CPR training in late October. A number of interested parishioners (and your clergy) took part in the classes along with some other folks from the community. The classes prompted the Vestry to begin looking into the purchase of an automatic defibrillator for the parsih. If you would like to donate toward the cost of the unit, please send your checks to the parish office withe "Defibrillator" in the memo line.

Annual Blessing of the pets liturgy in honor of st. Francis, patron saint of animals

In honor of St. Francis, Patron Saint of Animals, St. George's offered a "Blessing of the Pets Liturgy" on Sunday, October 5th. It was our largest crowd since we re-started the liturgy several years ago. Once again, there were representatives from all three local TV stations as well as the Savannah Morning News. 

Thanks to all who attended and made this years' celebration extra special. A big thanks to Coastal Pet Rescue for bringing some very loveable pups! Remember there are still many wonderful animals there who are in need of loving homes.
